Weaving the Web – The Past, Present and Future of the World Wide Web by its inventor
Weaving the Web – The Past, Present and Future of the World Wide Web by its inventor by Tim Berners-Lee. Technology in the making. Ever wondered how the first ‘http://’ server came about?
The New Global Oil Market: Understanding Energy Issues in the World Economy by Siamack Shojai, Ed., thought it would be a good read given current the ongoing “blood for oil debate”. But it’s a bit too technical for my introductory taste.
Judentum – Ein kurze Einfuehrung by Norman Solomon. Now this is a really exciting book telling the reader about recent archeological discoveries that confirm – or not – the Jewish and Christian founding myths written down in the Hebrew bible.
Against the Dead Hand: The Uncertain Struggle for Global Capitalism – by Brink Lindsey. Interesting book. If you worry about the possible long run economic consequences of the current international crisis, check out his book about the end of the last ‘globalisation’.
Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies – by Jared Diamond. Ever wondered why Europeans have conquered America and not vice versa? Jared Diamond tells long run the history of humanity on ca. 400 pages.
