Fast wie bei Torsten B. – die beste Entscheidung im Leben des Manuel N.

Lustige Sache. Coca Cola Zero Deutschland hat einen sehr schönen neuen Werbespot mit Manuel Neuer gedreht und auf youtube gestellt, der sich mit der Frage beschäftigt, was eigentlich wäre, wenn Manuel Neuer sich nicht dafür entschieden hätte Fußballprofi zu werden.

Great Minds think alike? Oder wurde vielleicht sogar irgendjemand aus der Agentur von unserer fake-Doku aus dem vergangenen Jahr inspiriert? Denn sowohl vom Thema als auch von der Machart erinnert der Spot schon stark an Ronia Adl-Tabatabais Film “Die beste Entscheidung im Leben des Torsten B.”, in dem ich letztes Jahr eben jenen Thorsten gespielt habe. Denkt Ihr nicht auch?

Secret Encounter (2009)

Secret Encounter is a short film Danilo Vogt (Artmaniax Films) shot for the Hamburg International Short Film Festival’s 3-minute-quickie competition, the motto for which was “human error” in 2009. Accordingly, I’m playing a priest who’s accidentally killing a well meaning alien life form trying to establish contact with humanity because I’m enganging in, well, let’s say, behaviour not condoned by either the Catholic Church or traffic regulations.

49°59’N / 8°14’E (2002)

Usually just called “49 degrees”, this is a 3 minute short, shot for the 2002 Hamburg International Short Film Festival‘s “3-minute quickie” competition. In 2002, the topic was “thirst”. I’m in this film with Roland Goulsbra, who, tragically, recently died of a sudden heart attack. This is, I think, Sebastian Linke’s only film to date that was shot exclusively in English. Roland and I were mostly improvising the dialogue of the two hallucinating castaways.

I tried to convince Sebastian to add a voiceover with parts of dialogues from Georg Büchner’s play “Danton’s Death” that would have heavily politicised the film, but it was too far from what he wanted with his film. Maybe one day I’ll do on my own…

Das erste Mal (2007)

A Film by Sebastian Linke and Gerald Haffke about some man’s (me) fear of the first time – taking a lift. It was shot in a hurry just days before our visit to the Cannes Film Festival in 2007 as an entry for the Open Ohr Festival‘s film competition about the subject “fear” – and it still won! In 2009, it was also shown at the Hamburg International Shortfilm Festival.

While the film has by now been subtitled, the version on youtube is not. So, if you understand German, enjoy!
