9./10.9.2015, 0:35, Unicato – Cola-Rot im MDR
In der Nacht von Mittwoch den 9.9. auf Donnerstag den 10. 9. 2015 könnt Ihr Hagen und Manuela ab 0:35 bei ihren Irrungen und Wirrungen der Liebe zuschauen, wenn der Film von Ronia Adl-Tabatabai, Sebastian Linke und mir im Rahmen von Unicato – Junger Film im MDR (facebook) ausgestrahlt wird. 49°59’N / 8°14’E (2002)
Usually just called “49 degrees”, this is a 3 minute short, shot for the 2002 Hamburg International Short Film Festival‘s “3-minute quickie” competition. In 2002, the topic was “thirst”. I’m in this film with Roland Goulsbra, who, tragically, recently died of a sudden heart attack. This is, I think, Sebastian Linke’s only film to date that was shot exclusively in English. Roland and I were mostly improvising the dialogue of the two hallucinating castaways.
I tried to convince Sebastian to add a voiceover with parts of dialogues from Georg Büchner’s play “Danton’s Death” that would have heavily politicised the film, but it was too far from what he wanted with his film. Maybe one day I’ll do on my own…

Das erste Mal (2007)
A Film by Sebastian Linke and Gerald Haffke about some man’s (me) fear of the first time – taking a lift. It was shot in a hurry just days before our visit to the Cannes Film Festival in 2007 as an entry for the Open Ohr Festival‘s film competition about the subject “fear” – and it still won! In 2009, it was also shown at the Hamburg International Shortfilm Festival.

A Movie, With Me.
It might come as a shock to you, my gentle readers, but from time to time I do act in student short films. And as this week saw the premieres of two more recent productions, I thought to myself ‘why not experiment with streaming media and put an older one on the web?’
And so I did. Clicking on the image below takes you to a realmedia-encoded version of a largely improvised short film by Sebastian Linke called “49 degrees”, shot in English for and shown at the Hamburg International Film Festival in June 2002. The film was part of the category “thee minute quickie”. A category named after the length of the films shown rather than their content… As for the content, the theme the “quickies” had to deal with in 2002 was “thirst”.
For those who can’t remember what I look like – or have never seen me -, I am “Robbespierre aka the guy who doesn’t drink” ;).
