And why, exactly, is it that this new Blogger version always creates two posts when I post just one?

Want A 3G Mobile Phone For Free?
Here’s how to do it – from theregister.co.uk.
Numbers you don’t need.
But which are pretty cool nonetheless – ‘this site is intended to allow science fiction fans to get an impression of the true scale of their favorite science fiction spacecraft by being able to campare ships accross genres, as well as being able to compare them with contemporary objects with which they are probably familiar.’ – Jeff Russell’s starship dimensions.
So this is Chrismas.
It happened. Yesterday I heard ‘Wham’s’ ‘Last Christmas’ for the first time this year. But it’s getting worse. It was not even the original. It was a cover version. Can you believe there are people out there making money by covering a ‘Wham’ christmas carol in 2002? That’s almost as strange as the story of the person jailed for cannibalism in Germany today. He apparently found someone through the Internet who was willing to be first killed and then eaten.
In light of this, I am going to repeat some valuable advice once more: In the Internet, you never know who you’re talking to. So please, be careful in case you click on any of those spam-mail links offering digitised female attention. Maybe the Beauty turns out to be the Beast.
To Sonya: The One With The Best Nap Ever.
Do you remember the “Friends” episode in which Ross and Joey fall asleep together on a sofa and later discover that it was the “best nap” they ever had?
Well, I did not fall asleep on another guy, but in the train on the way back from Cologne. But in that train, I did have my best nap ever.
And I thought I’ll shock all you, my gentle readers, with the following statement: Call me crazy, but sleeping in trains is the most relaxing experience I can think of. I can’t tell you why, but I suppose it must have something to do with the constant low pitch background noise and slight vibration the (high speed) train is producing when in operation. I guess that’s why I wake up when it stops in a station for a bit.
If you think I lost my mind, I’ll let you into a little secret of mine. When I was a little boy and would not fall asleep, my dad took me for a ride in the car. Once he was driving on a highway with a constant speed, I would instantly fall asleep. Hmm, I wonder if I should invent a noisy, vibrating bed and become rich and famous by changing the world’s sleeping habits.
Are you sitting. Good. Don’t get up.
OK, it’s just a spam message I just received. But this one is actually really funny. I just wish I could believe. The message was:

I was amazed to discover the Sit & Slim Workout Exercise From Your Chair! that’s right, you can get in shape without leaving your chair! I lost an Amazing 16 LBS! All because of the Sit & Slim Workout! An excerise for people who hate to exercise! Click Here to learn more about it!”
Important news.
Following Steven Wolfram’s “A new kind of science“, another algorythm solving one of the oldest mathematical problems, the determination of prime numbers (those which can only be divided by one and themselves), has been discovered by Indian researchers.
Mainz 05, up-and-coming football club in Germany’s second division, yesterday beat Union Berlin on their home ground. (Link).
For all those not too familiar with the second division of the German football league, Mainz05 is my home-town club and almost ascended to the premier league last season. Now they need all the suppport they can get to make it this time around. So please stand up for the (coming) champions, for the champions stand up…
A New Hope.
Although I had not had a single look at this blog for almost two months, tonight I felt the sudden urge to change the template and make it at least presentable. The HTML used in the template I chose is somewhat awkward, so I think this page will get yet another look in a few days. Stay tunes for new and exciting insights will be published here soon (or so I hope…).
Hello world.
Now I suppose that is the classic starting entry for any blog. But this is not just any blog, this one is mine. Over the recent months, blogging has become a wide-spread phenonmenon, and I have discovered some blogs to be phenonmenal context enriching sources of interpretation, knowledge, and sometimes wisdom. Since we all know that a general tendency to reciprocate probably is the most fundamental form of human interaction I want to do just that – try to add to this web of wisdom what I think I can. It will be up to you, my (future) readers, to decide whether my contribution is worth reading or even as insightful and valuable as some of the contributions I have read. The ones that made me start this blog. I will probably add links later.
This blog is called t -com (or maybe t.com, I will think about it) as an abbreviation and brand for “tobi’s communications”, for (you might have guessed…) I am Tobi or, rather, Tobias Schwarz from Germany. I think that most of this blog will be in English, i order to give my predominantly non-German-speaking international friends a chance to read it. But my comments might occasionally feature links to German and French publications.
I don’t know how often I am going to update this. I have never used a diary, and this is a bit like one, except for the fact that it is going to be less about my emotions and more about my thoughts. Therefore I think the concept fits me rather well…
It is probably too early to say that I will concentrate on certain issues more than on others. Just stick around and see for yourself.
